We believe we have an exciting year planned for you in 2011 – 2012.

We are expanding our educational and social activities, both of which support professional networking, bringing you into contact with the right people to help further your career. Please take a moment to review our calendar of events for this year. If you would like to see something added, please send us a message via email or phone and we’ll see if we can make it happen.

Another way to further your career is to become involved in committees. Please look at the various committees we offer and if you see an area that piques your interest, contact that committee chair and volunteer to help. In a state like ours with a small population, volunteers are always welcome.

We also offer a variety of opportunities to achieve and advance your professional career by becoming certified. The first step is to become a Certified Healthcare Financial Professional, which allows you to display CHFP behind your name, letting other professionals know you have achieved a certain level of proficiency in the healthcare financial field. After achieving this, you can progress further to become a Fellow of the Healthcare Financial Management Association, letting others in the industry know you have achieved the highest level of certification.

This year, we have focused on increasing the value of HFMA to you, our members. As officers, members of the board, committee chairs, and committee members, we have kept one thought in the forefront. Just like you, we are members too! We welcome you to join us and together, let’s have a great year.
